Abstract

In 2023, the rice harvest area will reach around 300,565 hectares with rice production of 1,482,469 tons of milled dry grain (GKG).

If converted into rice for food consumption by the population, rice production in 2023 will reach 858,383 tons.

The rice harvest area in 2023 will reach around 300,565 hectares, an increase of 28,682 hectares or 10.55 percent compared to the rice harvest area in 2022 which was 271,883 hectares.

The rice harvest area in 2024 will reach 295,279 hectares, a decrease of 5,286 hectares or 1.76 percent compared to the rice harvest area in 2023 which was 300,565 hectares.

In 2024, the rice harvest area in Sumatera Barat is estimated to be 296,216 hectares with a production of around 1.352 million tons of GKG.
