Abstract

  • In January 2025, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sumatera Barat Province was 1.24 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.93. The highest inflation occurred in Pasaman Barat Regency at 2.38 percent with a CPI of 108.40 and the lowest occurred in Padang City at 0.81 percent with a CPI of 106.39. 
  • Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 4.60 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.73 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.22 percent; health group by 2.71 percent; transportation group by 1.30 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.78 percent; education group at 2.98 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.39 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 7.71 percent. Meanwhile, the groups experiencing deflation were the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 6.65 percent and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.19 percent. 
  • On a month to month (m-to-m) basis, Sumatera Barat Province in January 2025 experienced inflation of 0.03 percent. Until January 2025, year to date (y-to-d) inflation in Sumatera Barat Province was 0.03 percent.
